How to Access Information under RTI Act

1.Filing Of Application

A person seeking information may file an application on a plain paper.

The application along with requisite fee can be given to the concerned Public Information Officer(PIO).

2.Payment Of Fees:

Mode of Payment

 a) Crossed Bank Draft/ IPO in favour of the Head of the Department/ Public Authority concerned only; Or

b) In cash Or Through Treasury Challan in the following Head of Account:-

(ii) Application Fee:-Rs.10/- only

(iii) Rates/ Fees for the documents to be supplied to the applicant:-

  • Rupees two for each page (in A-4 or A-3 size paper) created or copied.
  • Actual charge or cost price of a copy in larger size paper;  
  • Actual cost or price for samples or models; and    
  • For inspection of records, no fee for the first hour; and a fee of rupees five for each fifteen minutes (or fraction thereof) thereafter.  
  • For information provided in diskette or floppy rupees fifty per diskette or floppy.
  • For information provided in printed form at the price fixed for such publication or rupees two per page of photocopy for extracts from the publication.

Note:- The applicant has to deposit the requisite fee either in cash or by draft or cheque or through treasury challan.
